Responsibilities
Lead and assist crewman in tasks associated with installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cable, based on directions from SupervisorDrives / Operates Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cableDrives and / or operates diesel or gasoline powered equipment to / from / on jobsite (Backhoe, Trencher, Directional Bore, Digger Derrick, Pole / Bucket Truck)Locates other buried wiring / cablingInstall underground telecommunications cablingFlagging (directing safe coordination of vehicles and equipment within general public areas where worksites are active)Property or worksite restorationInspect equipment, work quality, specifications, etc. of work crewsResolve complaintsPerforms general construction work (to include physical labor i.e. using hand tools, lifting materials on average up to 50 lbs, etc.)Performs all tasks according to directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits / conditions according to all Federal, State, and Company regulations and policiesPerforms other duties as necessaryRequirements
You are at least 18 years oldYou are authorized to work in the United States for this companyYou have prior experience within the Telecommunications or Utility Construction / Maintenance industryYou have valid CDL, preferredYou are able to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe mannerYou are able to use hand tools and equipment in a safe mannerYou are able to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilitiesYou are able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits / conditions according to all Federal, State, and Company regulations and policiesYou are able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.You are able to demonstrate ability to maintain positive working relationships both internally and externallyYou are able to lift / carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistanceYou are able to work as needed (over-time, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies or on-call)You are able to maintain a safe work environmentYou are able to work in all weather conditionsWhy grow your career with us
