About the Role

A local law firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and legal team. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen understanding of legal procedures and documentation.

As a Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of our legal department by managing case files, preparing documents, and assisting with research and client communications.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff.

Draft, proofread, and format legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.

Manage and organize case files, both physical and electronic.

Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings.

Schedule meetings, hearings, and court dates; maintain attorney calendars.

Communicate with clients, courts, and other stakeholders as needed.

Assist in billing, timekeeping, and other office management tasks.

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.

Prior experience in a legal setting (law firm, corporate legal department, or government agency) required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, or similar).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Professional demeanor and commitment to client service.

Work Schedule : Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Wages : $20-22 p / hr
