Job Description
The Insurance Verification Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring patients have accurate and up-to-date insurance coverage prior to receiving services. This position is responsible for contacting patients to confirm insurance details, verifying benefits, and enrolling eligible patients in copay assistance programs.
Essential Functions
- Call patients to confirm insurance coverage prior to scheduled appointments or procedures.
- Collect and update insurance information in the patient management system.
- Verify patient benefits including coverage limits, copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
- Contact insurance carriers directly or use online portals to obtain benefit details.
- Identify patients eligible for copay assistance programs.
- Guide patients through the enrollment process and ensure all required documentation is submitted.
- Maintain accurate records of copay assistance approvals and renewals.
- Document all verification and enrollment activities in Nextech.
- Communicate benefit details and financial responsibilities to patients clearly and compassionately.
- Collaborate with billing, front desk, and clinical teams to ensure seamless patient experience.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Travels as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 1-2 years of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or patient financial services.Strong understanding of commercial and government insurance plans.Familiarity with copay assistance programs and patient support services.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Proficiency in EHR / PM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience in specialty care or high-volume outpatient settings.Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
