A day in the life
You start by walking the lathes and mills, reviewing last shift’s metrics and Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) boards. A Manufacturing Setup Operator flags a dimensional drift on a titanium component; you coach them through root cause, check the program offsets, confirm tooling wear, and log actions per good documentation practices. By mid-morning, you’re collaborating with Engineering and Quality on a special build for a new product introduction, validating the CNC program (G-code) and confirming it will meet cGMP and SOP requirements. After lunch, you run a safety audit in the lathing area, document findings, and schedule a risk assessment follow-up. You finish the shift updating procedures, submitting production reports, and planning tomorrow’s training session for associates.
