Role Overview
Reporting to the Vice President Global Head of Tax, you will manage the preparation and review of tax compliance and reporting matters on complex transactions in accordance with U.S. domestic and foreign tax code regulations. You will provide training and mentorship to other members of the tax team, apply industry‑specific knowledge to advise on tax implications, evaluate alternative actions to mitigate tax burden, and identify methods of compliance. You will understand potential tax issues and opportunities, communicate risks to senior leadership, assist with tax audits, and keep abreast of changing tax laws. You will also oversee the calculation and preparation of the provision for income taxes under ASC 740, quarterly estimated tax payments, and tax return schedules for foreign entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Accounting under ASC 740
- Support the preparation and review of current and deferred tax schedules
- Calculate and review tax reserves and valuation allowances
- Collaborate with external auditors and internal departments on tax provision matters
- Partner with external service providers to review tax provisions for both domestic and foreign entities
U.S. Domestic and Foreign Income Tax Compliance
Assist in preparing source data for annual income tax return workpapers and calculations for federal, state, and Latin America filingsMaintain quarterly detailed tax account reconciliations for U.S. and Latin America entitiesPrepare quarterly estimated income tax, extension, and tax return paymentsManage unclaimed property processes, including historical resolution where applicableAssist in preparing and reviewing monthly sales tax returnsCompile source data for property tax returnsReview and draft timely responses to federal and state income tax noticesLead staff in preparing and filing information returns (e.g., Forms 1099, 720, 1042), FBAR, and FATCA / CRS reportingReview foreign indirect tax reporting (VAT, RCT, etc.)Support the internal tax team and external tax advisors in the annual R&D credit studyAssist in preparing source data for transfer‑pricing reports in U.S. and Latin AmericaContribute to the implementation of streamlined and automated tax reporting processesSupport tax audits, including scheduling and preparing responses to information requestsAssist in identifying and implementing tax savings opportunities such as applicable tax credits and communicating results to the Vice PresidentConduct special tax research projects as assignedRequirements
Minimum 8+ years tax experience in public accounting or comparable industry experienceBig 4 (or equivalent) public accounting experience with a focus on U.S. corporate tax and Latin America tax mattersDeep understanding of country‑specific Latin America tax planning and tax complianceComprehensive understanding of indirect taxes : Property Tax and Sales and Use Tax compliance filingsExtensive experience in tax planning, tax compliance, and preparation of tax returns and provisions, with a proven track record in a similar roleUnderstanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including international tax laws for a global organizationKnowledge of U.S. consolidated tax return rules and regulations & Latin America country‑specific tax filingsFluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate and explain complex tax concepts clearlyProficient in tax research software and advanced Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Proficient in use of SAP and One Stream, preferredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited four‑year college or universityReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this roleWhy Should You Apply?
