Flintco's Superintendents exercise direct supervision over assigned projects from start to finish, providing direction, leadership, and guidance to employees and subcontractors, assisting them in planning, coordination and execution of their work in order to complete the project in a timely and economical manner with high standards of workmanship. Responsible for maximizing profits on assigned projects. All job site supervisors report to superintendent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
All duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned. To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. All job functions shall be accomplished including practicing, instructing all subordinates in, and enforcing all OSHA safety requirements / guidelines, in addition to all company policies and procedures. The Superintendent will be held directly accountable for safety performance. The essential functions include but are not limited to :
Knowledge / Skills / Ability
Prepare detailed construction projects plans, schedules and estimates. Read and interpret construction drawings, show drawings and specifications. Calculate square footage, volumes and percentages using a personal computer or calculator. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Prepare and update project schedules, transmittals and submittals using personal computer software. Manage large groups of personnel and to accomplish desired results through subordinate levels of management with little or no supervision.
Education
High School diploma or GED. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in construction management preferred.
Experience
At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial construction and management of field personnel.
