Overview
CEI Office Engineer role at KCI Technologies, Inc. The CEI Practice is growing and there is an immediate need for a CEI Office Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
- Receive general instructions regarding assignments and exercise initiative and independent judgment in solving work problems
- Complete, direct, and assign specific tasks to administrative staff and coordinate and review field staff document submittals for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with project requirements during all phases of the construction project
- Compile project documentation into daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
- Manage and track spreadsheets of quantities, materials, inspections, testing, identified construction issues, and other construction inspection documentation
- Prepare progress estimates and final estimates throughout the construction project duration
Essential Functions
Review, comment, and approve construction inspection summaries of daily activitiesReview submittals for completeness and conformance with project requirements, drawings, specifications, and other contract documentsReview detailed records of the contractors daily operations including work items, quantities, construction issues, construction methods, and events that affect the workTrack and measure completed work quantities for paymentManage the team of inspectors, assist in coordinating their schedules and oversee their work and recordsCoordinate and communicate material testing requirements on the project; review project sampling and testing of materials and completed work for acceptanceMonitor work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issuesMonitor erosion control plan, identify permitting requirements, verify conformance, and review contractor erosion control submittalsAnalyze complex construction documentation processes requiring new or improved techniques or proceduresInteract proactively with Project Managers and clients to determine routine issues affecting project managementMaintain construction project records in accordance with GDOT and project proceduresInterface with project managers, contractors, and inspection staff on review of contract plans and documents, day-to-day construction activities, and review of submittalsReview daily inspection reports and quantity computationsEnsure timely completion of time sheets and expense reportsTake ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback and developing new skillsQualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferredMinimum of 5 - 9 years of experience requiredPre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employmentPerformance Expectations
Complete Annual Individual Training ProgramComply with all KCI policies and proceduresEnsure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirementsEstablish strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and design engineersAchieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization targetComplete all tasks on time and within budget while meeting the scopeOperate within specified budget parametersAssist in negotiating contractor change ordersMaintain document control for correspondence, RFIs, submittals, etc.Oversee project schedule and budgetPrepare and analyze schedulesPrepare cost estimatesRead plans and specifications and understand the contractor's means and methodsSolve construction problems in the fieldTest, document, and assure quality of contractor's workKCI Technologies, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
