Yes Job Type Full-Time Working Hours Position Summary The Counseling and Human Services program at Roosevelt University invites applications for a full-time, in-person, Tenure-Track Assistant Teaching Professor faculty position in our CACREP-accredited master’s degree program. We are seeking an energetic and self-aware candidate who shares our commitment to preparing diverse, highly qualified, and socially conscious counseling professionals.
The Counseling and Human Services Department offers program tracks in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. This position is located on our downtown Chicago campus with an anticipated start date of August 15, 2026.
The Programs and University: The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program and the School Counseling Program are both CACREP-accredited through 2030. Primary responsibilities include teaching six graduate counseling courses per year; advising students; collaborating with students, colleagues, and community partners; supervising practicum and internship; contributing to curriculum development and accreditation data collection/documentation; implementation of an impactful service and research agenda; and participation in college activities, serving on program or college committees, and performing related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program, with a background in clinical mental health or school counseling at the time of appointment. Applicants must also have a strong counselor educator identity, successful university teaching experience, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated service. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in a range of CACREP core content areas
- Experience mentoring students within a cohort model, and/or experience with field placement coordination.
- Have at least two years of experience.
Equipment Operated Basic office classroom equipment (desktop computer, laptop, overhead project, office copier). Working Conditions Normal climate-controlled office and classroom environment.
Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds).
