Job Title : Manual Machinist

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 6 : 00 AM – 2 : 30 PM
Pay Range : $25 – $32 / hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and manual machines including lathes, millers, grinders, drill presses, and band saws. This role is responsible for producing high-quality parts while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on machining experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
What You Will Do
Productivity, Cost, & Delivery
Set up and operate multiple machines simultaneously to maximize output.
Troubleshoot advanced and complex machine, program, and maintenance issues.
Adjust machine offsets and perform program edits to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Review blueprints, tool sheets, routings, and specifications for accuracy and manufacturability.
Communicate improvement opportunities and corrections to engineering.
Quality
Perform first-part and in-process inspections using precision measurement tools.
Document part quality and ensure compliance with ISO9100 standards.
Support internal and external audit activities as required.
Safety
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Ensure shop and property are safe and secure at the end of each shift.
Maintain current first aid and forklift certifications.
Communication & Teamwork
Assist with troubleshooting, stock management, and quality concerns during shift.
Support additional duties including programming, inspection, deburring, and maintenance.
Document material usage on work orders and minimize scrap.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and keep machines in optimal condition.
Maintain records of machine settings, programs, and processes.
Promote continuous improvement in processes, quality, safety, and productivity.
Foster collaboration and effective communication within and across departments.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 years of machining experience or equivalent.
Advanced manufacturing / machining training or certification preferred.
Experience operating manual lathes, millers, grinders, drill presses, band saws, and conventional / special -purpose machines; CNC experience a plus.
Toolmaking experience preferred.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Good manual dexterity and visual acuity required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
Lift 30+ lbs. occasionally, 20–30 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly.
May require exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals and oils.
Pay Details : $25.00 to $32.00 per hour
