  • As a 2D Programmer at NEDC , you’ll transform customer drawings into production-ready programs that drive our advanced cutting, laser, and inspection systems.
  • Your work ensures our team delivers the highest-quality aerospace and defense components to specification — every time.
  • You’ll create and optimize part layouts in AutoCAD and IGEMS , interface with Planar Inspection and Virtek LaserQC systems for verification, and collaborate closely with operators, engineers, and quality personnel to maintain NEDC’s reputation for accuracy and reliability under ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards.
  • What You’ll Do Every Day Core Responsibilities :

  • Program and nest 2D parts for cutting and inspection using AutoCAD and IGEMS Prepare and verify digital files for laser and waterjet production Interface with Planar Inspection and Virtek LaserQC to validate dimensional accuracy Collaborate with operators to ensure smooth program execution and production flow Review customer prints and specifications to ensure manufacturing feasibility Maintain revision control of digital files and ensure traceability compliance Enter production data such as run times, part counts, and inspection results Support continuous improvement initiatives for programming efficiency and accuracy Follow ISO 9001 / AS9100 procedures and all company safety policies What We’re Looking For Education & Experience : High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or technical CAD environment Experience with AutoCAD , IGEMS , or similar 2D CAD / CAM software Skills That Will Help You Succeed : Strong understanding of 2D geometry, scaling, and tolerancing Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and blueprints Familiarity with inspection workflows using Planar or Virtek systems Data entry and documentation accuracy for quality and production traceability Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or production data systems Personal Qualities We Value : Analytical mindset and problem-solving approach Strong communication and teamwork across departments Dependability and commitment to high-quality output Desire to grow within advanced manufacturing and inspection programming Certifications & Standards : Familiarity or willingness to train under ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality management What Your Day Looks Like Physical Environment : Office and production floor collaboration — typically standing / walking 25–40% of the day Frequent use of computer, mouse, and measurement tools Ability to occasionally lift materials or samples up to 25 pounds Work Setting : Clean, structured manufacturing environment Moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to production areas Why You’ll Love Working Here At NEDC, precision and teamwork define everything we do.
