We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Supervisor to join our State Tax Planning & Compliance team at a vibrant renewable energy company based in Juno Beach, Florida.
As a key member of the in-house tax department, you will thrive in our fast-paced, collaborative environment while taking on responsibilities crucial to state and local tax compliance, planning, and policy initiatives.
Role is Onsite in Juno Beach, FL (relocation package available)
Responsibilities :
- Manage complex compliance filing obligations for a large multistate taxpayer, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all submissions.
- Provide support for tax audits, demonstrating expertise in negotiation and appeals processes.
- Drive process improvement initiatives by leveraging the latest technology tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in tax operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to research, document, and evaluate material income tax positions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Identify, analyze, and document FIN 48 positions, maintaining comprehensive understanding of state income tax apportionment methodologies and accounting rules.
- Model the cash and U.S. GAAP state income / franchise tax treatment of transactions, business changes, and audit assessments / positions.
- Communicate complex technical tax issues clearly and effectively to management, internal stakeholders, and tax authorities.
- Conduct in-depth state income / franchise tax research and present findings in a concise manner.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to derive meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Prioritize and multitask effectively, meeting deadlines while producing high-quality work product.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, proactively supporting the business and contributing to its success.
Experience :
- Proven experience in managing complex compliance filing obligations for multistate taxpayers.
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting tax audit functions for multistate businesses.
- Strong foundation of state and local income / franchise tax technical knowledge, with experience advising on tax positions.
- Familiarity with state income tax accounting rules, methods, and audit processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse teams.
- Self-motivated with strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and various tax software tools.
