Senior Cost Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role will focus on cost accounting, general ledger responsibilities, and serving as a finance liaison for operations. The Senior Cost Accountant will oversee inventory analysis, cost reporting, and the development of cost accounting processes, while also participating in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong analytical skills, and has familiarity with lot accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data related to cost of goods sold (materials, labor, overhead).
• Oversee costing techniques and ensure accuracy of methods.
• Prepare monthly journal entries tied to inventory and cost valuations.
• Perform detailed analysis of inventory and COGS accounts.
• Develop and maintain standard labor rates for internal repair operations.
• Monitor cost performance and support variance analysis (labor and overhead).
• Coordinate and reconcile physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Analyze count results, propose adjustments, and ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate financial performance, pricing, and resource allocation.
• Manage and evaluate inventory reserve and release processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Support external audits and respond to ad-hoc GL or inventory requests.
