Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Location : Memphis, TN 38104 (Tennessee healthcare jobs)

Facility Type : Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center

Unit : Cardiac Stepdown / Medical Surgical Overflow (5 NORTH)

Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)

Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)

Weekly Hours : 36 (option for 48 hours may be discussed during interview)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025 or 11 / 3 / 2025; End : 1 / 19 / 2026)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 / 7

Weekend & On-Call : As needed

Orientation : 16 hours

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience (3+ years preferred)

At least 1 completed previous travel nursing assignment required

Level I Trauma Center experience required

Large hospital experience required

Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state (NLC guidelines apply)

ADN or BSN accepted (BSN required only for select units)

Cerner charting experience preferred

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Must reside at least 100 miles from facility

First-time travel nurses not accepted

Pending RN licenses not accepted

Travel RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and med surg overflow patients

Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient conditions; implement appropriate interventions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a fast-paced, acute care environment

Float between similar units and campuses within 20 miles as needed

Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner (preferred)

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training

Work assigned weekends and holidays as required
