Teacher Assistant (Non-Certified) Albany, NY (Capital Region) Fusco Personnel is actively recruiting for a Teacher Assistant (Non-Certified) to join our client's Day Treatment / R & E May School program.

The Teacher Assistant will work closely with the Master Teacher to deliver a structured, therapeutic educational experience that supports each student’s academic and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities : Support the Master Teacher in implementing individualized education and care plans (IEPs).

Provide classroom instruction, supervision, and behavioral support to students ages 5–13.

Model and teach positive coping, social, and problem-solving skills.

Maintain a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment.

Collect and document data related to student performance and behavior.

Participate actively as a member of each student’s Care Plan Team.

Step in for the Master Teacher when needed and manage the classroom effectively.

Qualifications : High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, Human Services, or related field preferred.

Must obtain New York State Level-1 Teaching Assistant Certificate within 90 days of hire.

Experience working with children with emotional or behavioral challenges preferred.

Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.

Ability to respond effectively and therapeutically in crisis situations (TCI training provided).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite; experience with AWARDS / NYS Connections a plus.

Compensation Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
