Responsibilities for Summer Camp Music Technology Instructor
- Have the potential to teach beginner - advanced levels of techniques for children ages 5-13 yrs
- Ability to coordinate efforts with a team of other staff members to create a Grand Finale Production
- Experience with television, stage plays, recording artists, film, or professional experience
- Experience with working with children (or willingness)
- Create lesson plans, routines, Original Songs, Original Productions utilizing the young talent within the afterschool program (framework is given)
- Assist with creative direction for Grand Finale Week Performances
- Ensure a group of assigned students is supervised and safe
- Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques
- Prepare and lead a variety of activities that are age-appropriate
- Model good behavior for students as it relates to sportsmanship, manners, and respectfulness
- Identify teachable moments and capitalize on them
- Supervise meal time activities
- Build and maintain a good working rapport with co-workers, students, and parents
- Work in a team environment, creating a safe and fun experience for children
- Perform all responsibilities in a manner that guarantees the safety of students
- Facilitate and encourage participation in Music Technology and other afterschool program activities
Qualifications
- Must know music technology.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) REQUIRED
- 1 year of experience supervising and working with children, preferably as an afterschool instructor, camp counselor or teacher REQUIRED
- Certification in CPR and AED preferred
- First aid skills and training
- Ability to pass a background check REQUIRED to work with children
- General mobility including, but not limited, to walking, running, bending, kneeling, and standing REQUIRED for afterschool program activities
- Proven ability to maintain a safe environment for others in adherence with provided protocol and standards
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and lead activities for large groups of children
- Ability to lift and / or move up to 20 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience in Education, Music, or related field (certified or non-certified)
- Demonstrated success in working with children in teaching or mentoring capacity
- Must know music technology.
Job Type : Part-time
Pay : $18 - $20 per hour
