Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Managing Director to lead our Operations team!

The Managing Director will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children's Zone : break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.

We are seeking a Managing Director of Operations to provide senior leadership and oversee our Facilities, Food Services, and Safety departments (Core Operations) that support our departments, programs, and schools, spanning 20+ physical locations throughout Central Harlem. The Managing Director of Operations will directly lead three department directors and work closely with senior leaders across the organization to ensure Core Operations are run efficiently and services provided meet the needs of all our locations, students, families, and staff.

Facilities : Ensures our 20+ physical locations remain compliant, structurally sound, clean, and welcoming; foster good partnership engagements with external building entities and their teams.

Food Services : Operates three full-service kitchens in our K-12 HCZ Promise Academy Charter Schools providing one million healthy meals for scholars and staff across the organization annually.

Safety : Ensures our 20+ physical locations remain safe spaces, support various safety initiatives, and fosters ongoing partnerships with local precincts.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing multi-site operations within a complex organization, be a strong coach, manager; and people leader; and possess technical expertise in the areas of project and risk management. The Managing Director of Operations will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and serve as a key member of HCZ's senior leadership team.
