Description

Oneida Health is currently seeking a CT Technologist to care for patients in our Radiology Department. This position involves responsibility for performing diagnostic medical examination of patients using computerized tomography equipment. Work is performed under the general direction of a Supervising CT Technologist with leeway allowed for exercise of independent judgement in carrying out technical details of the position.

  • Completing patient education regarding examination and procedures.
  • Promoting privacy and comfort for patients during their time in the hospital.
  • Performing CT scans in an efficient and timely manner in compliance with departmental, hospital, and regulatory agency standards.
  • Recording appropriate files as assigned.
  • Assisting the Radiologists with biopsies and drainages.
  • Scheduling patients in cooperation with Radiologists, referring physician offices, and nursing units.
  • Maintaining CT equipment and suite in a clean, neat, and orderly condition.

    • Qualifications

    Education :

  • Graduate of an approved program for Radiologic Technology (Required)

    • License and Certifications :

  • ARRT and NYS license. (Required)
  • BLS (Preferred)

    • Experience :

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred.

    • Professional Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in patient positioning and imaging techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, and other team members.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining CT equipment.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining X-ray equipment
  • Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and protocols.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move heavy equipment.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail required for positioning patients and operating machinery.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
