What a Community Engagement Specialist does :
- Develop and implement comprehensive outreach strategies to identify and engage with diverse community groups, local leaders, and relevant organizations.
- Organize and execute community events, workshops, and informational sessions to raise awareness about LifeLine's services and initiatives.
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with community partners, cultivating long-term alliances that support LifeLine's objectives.
- Represent LifeLine at community meetings, fairs, and other public forums, delivering compelling presentations and fostering positive public perception.
- Gather feedback from community members and partners to inform program development and ensure LifeLine's offerings are responsive to evolving needs.
- Prepare detailed reports on outreach activities, partnerships, and community engagement metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of community volunteers, ensuring their effective participation in outreach efforts.
What a Community Engagement Specialist needs :
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Communications, Public Relations, or Community Development.Proven experience in community outreach, engagement, or a related field, preferably within a non-profit or social service environment.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including community leaders, partners, and volunteers.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software or community engagement platforms.Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to accommodate community events.A genuine passion for community well-being and a commitment to LifeLine's mission.
