The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and career-minded Diesel Technician with 8 years of dedicated experience to join our bustling New York City team. If you possess a keen troubleshooting mind, a passion for continuous improvement, and the expertise to keep our diverse fleet of coach buses running flawlessly, we want to hear from you. This role is ideal for a curious, hands-on expert eager to learn and implement new ideas in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics, maintenance, and expert repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines and all coach bus systems (including electrical, air brake, HVAC, hydraulic, and suspension).
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electronic system issues.
• Conduct thorough preventative maintenance inspections and ensure strict adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and internal company compliance standards.
• Coordinate and respond promptly to service calls for emergency breakdowns, providing crucial roadside support as needed.
• Contribute to team development by assisting in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of assigned junior technicians and new hires.
• Participate actively in developing and delivering maintenance and safety training programs for all relevant personnel.
• Maintain accurate, detailed repair records and service logs, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members on all vehicle statuses.
• Proactively identify and implement process improvements within the shop, embracing new technologies and repair techniques.
• Perform additional duties as required to ensure the continuous operational readiness and safety of our fleet.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications)

Minimum of 8 years of direct experience in diesel engine and heavy-duty vehicle repair, preferably with Van Hool coach buses.

Valid CDL Class A or B license (Required).

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic, step-by-step troubleshooting mentality.

Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and squat for prolonged periods.
