Child Welfare Services (CWS) Worker
Location : Park Forest, IL
Compensation : $22.00 – $24.00 / hour (based on experience)

Position Summary
The CWS Worker plays a vital role in supporting child safety, family stability, and long-term well-being. This position operates within the Child Welfare Services (CWS) Referral Program , helping families reduce risk by connecting them to community-based resources and services. Through ongoing assessment, outreach, and solution-focused support, the CWS Worker helps families remain together and function more safely.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct weekly home visits to assess safety and risk concerns impacting children.
Apply critical thinking and a solution-focused approach to address family needs and challenges.
Provide referrals and connect families to community resources, including :
Parenting support and education
Short-term in-home assistance
Medical care
Other tailored services based on family needs
Promote protective factors and encourage family strengths to reduce risks and enhance functioning.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related Human Services field (required).
1–2 years of experience working with children, families, or at-risk populations.
Experience with trauma, mental health, substance use, or domestic violence (preferred).
Familiarity with community resources and services (preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Openness to reflective practice and serving multi-stressed families.
Certifications & Licensure
Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable personal vehicle required.
Clear driving record.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate : $22.00 – $24.00 (based on experience)
