A distinguished full-service law firm is seeking a Complex Commercial & Liability Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team focused on real estate, land use, and complex corporate matters. Position Overview :
This associate will manage high-value litigation and corporate disputes, guiding clients through complex procedural and strategic challenges. The role demands strong analytical skills, practical judgment, and the ability to achieve favorable outcomes across a range of matters.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee all stages of litigation, including strategy, discovery, motion practice, pre-trial preparation, trial, and post-trial matters.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and appellate documents, presenting complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Negotiate settlements, participate in mediations, and manage arbitration proceedings to achieve optimal client results.
- Advise on real estate financing issues, land and zoning matters, construction contracts, landlord-tenant disputes, and corporate transactions.
- Provide proactive risk management advice to mitigate future legal exposure.
- Lead client interactions, depositions, and collaborate internally to coordinate litigation with transactional or corporate strategies.
Qualifications :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school, with strong academic performance or notable achievements.
- Active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar; solid understanding of applicable state and federal regulations.
- 27 years of experience in litigation, ideally involving real property, corporate disputes, or complex commercial matters.
- Proven expertise in legal research, drafting high-quality filings, and conducting forensic analysis.
- Strong communication, advocacy, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to manage multiple active matters and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Skills :
- Advanced credentials such as an LL.M. in Real Property or Construction Law.
- Experience drafting appellate briefs or arguing before higher courts.
- Trial experience as first or second chair, or before administrative judges.
- Knowledge of risk management, corporate or commercial liability, and advising on development, construction, or financial matters.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, investigations, or fraud / prosecution-related matters.
