Experience : 2 years Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience in a similar facility for acuity

License : Required

Certifications : BLS, PALS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

Experience with fresh open heart post-operative patients.

Transplant experience.

Experience with the following devices : Aquadex, Impella, ECMO.

EPIC experience.

Ability / competency to float as needed.

Description :

This position involves providing care to a very high acuity patient population aged 0-18 years.

Patients include those with congenital heart differences who have undergone surgery, medical management pre- and post-transplant, and other complex treatments.

Patient ratios will vary based on acuity, typically ranging from 1 : 1 to 2 : 1.

There are no CNAs, but one health care technician will support nursing needs throughout the shift.

Support within the department includes charge nurses, resource nurses, and 24 / 7 availability of respiratory therapists and intensivists.

Telemetry monitoring is available, but the majority of patients have central lines.

EMR utilized is EPIC.

Floating to other units may be required, including PICU, NICU, and General Pediatrics.

Weekend rotation and holiday coverage is expected, with travelers working a percentage of holidays.

Unit culture emphasizes teamwork, trust, and accountability.
