Interim CFO

Hands-on CFO with a strong accounting systems and reporting skillset - light manufacturing required / food or ingredients mfg experience is a plus

Year-end close leadership; strong technical accounting and external audit coordination (BDO)

ERP implementation experience (pilot testing cutover stabilization) Microsoft Business Central / Dynamics preferred

Ability to manage / work well with two divisional VPs of Finance (Food Ingredients; Animal & Agronomy) and partner cross-functionally

Cost / throughput analytics and margin / COGS savvy in mfg environments

Upper Midwest base (MN preferred) with ability to travel to IL / IN / MN sites

Job Description :

Serve as Interim CFO owning monthly / quarterly close and year-end; ensure accurate timely financials and Board-ready reporting.

Lead technical accounting audit readiness and auditor interface (BDO) through JanFeb cycle.

Drive ERP implementation milestones (MS Business Central) : pilot testing go-live data integrity controls user adoption.

Oversee Accounting & Finance across divisions; partner with two VPs of Finance; set cadence for dashboards / operational KPIs.

Build cost / throughput analytics margin bridges pricing and mix insights; tighten standard costing inventory and COGS.

Improve forecasting / FP&A cash management and short-interval performance reporting during transition.

Provide PE-quality transparency to CEO / Board; package insights for MidOcean and support integration of recent add-ons (e.g. Ellison).

Interview Process :

Round 2 : CEO discussion / meeting (he is on vacation next week and hopes to meet screened candidates upon his return

Target start : ASAP; overlap with outgoing CFO through end of November

Notes & Context :

Business lines : Food Solutions / Ingredients; Animal Nutrition; Agronomy. Two food-ingredient company acquisitions closed in 2024 (Ellison doubled size of food unit; additional add-on referenced by client).

Production : largely made-to-order (e.g. inclusions like cookie component for Nestles ice-cream sandwiches); some inventory held in animal / agronomy.

Travel : Remote OK with periodic travel to the various locations; MN-based strongly preferred (close to HQ / plants) will consider candidates from Chicago Fort Wayne of Indianapolis markets as well.
