Job Title : 1s Shift, Production Supervisor
Location : St. Paul, MN (100% onsite)
Pay : $75,000 - $85,000 + 5% bonus
Duration : Direct Hire
Hours : 6AM – 2 : 30PM
Job Function Summary :
As a Production Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations, within manufacturing processes, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include the development of people and processes to optimize safety, quality, productivity, and timely delivery. This role demands a blend of forward thinking and hands-on leadership to drive operational excellence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead assigned operations team in delivering results across the Key Performance Indicators.
Analyze capacity and implement a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, formulate business case for additional personnel, and obtain approval for changes.
Identify and develop direct reports by providing training, assigning challenging tasks, and conducting performance management and reviews. This includes regularly reviewing and monitoring JBAS and work order training to ensure team members are proficient and able to effectively rotate through different stations.
Collaborate with cross-functional core team members to achieve goals.
Manage the performance of team members, including hiring, coaching, disciplining, and terminating production staff in compliance with policies and state and federal regulations.
Execute policies and ensure compliance that affect processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit (e.g. FDA, BSI, OSHA, EEO regulations etc.)
Engage in business decisions and make recommendations in operational procedures that affect personnel within the assigned organizational unit.
Analyze internal and external indicators by reviewing reports and data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Demonstrate an ability to facilitate systematic problem-solving.
Lead continuous improvement projects.
Implement and maintain Lean daily management practices, including tiered communication to drive continuous improvement.
Inspire a work environment committed to safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and Quality Management System.
Requirements : Education :
Minimum vocational / AS degree or equivalent work experience.
Engineering Elements in the Role
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
Involves analyzing data, identifying improvement opportunities, and leading continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies—core practices in industrial and manufacturing engineering.
Lean / Six Sigma Knowledge
The preferred qualification of a Lean / Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification directly ties into engineering principles, particularly in process engineering and quality control.
Systematic Problem Solving
Emphasis on the ability to facilitate systematic problem-solving, a key engineering competency often used in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
Capacity & Resource Planning
Involves analyzing capacity and developing staffing plans, which requires understanding of production flow, takt time, and possibly simulation or modeling—skills often found in operations or industrial engineering.
Compliance with Technical Standards
Includes ensuring compliance with FDA, BSI, and OSHA regulations, which often requires understanding of technical documentation, quality systems, and regulatory engineering.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Mentions collaboration with core teams, which may include engineers (e.g., process, quality, or design engineers) to resolve production issues or implement new processes.
Experience :
Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Lean / Six Sigma Yellow belt certification, preferred.
Manufacturing experience preferred
Skills :
Ability to lead functional operation and business strategy execution.
Critical thinking skills for addressing complex issues.
Effective communication with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to sit, stand, use hands, talk, and hear regularly.
Occasional reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds.
