Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool position, requiring at least 3 years of recent experience across multiple acute care settings and behavioral health areas.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital-wide float pool serving ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health unitsFloat to adult and youth acute, addiction recovery, emergency, progressive care, critical care, and medical-surgical departmentsPatient ratios vary : ICU 1 : 1-2, Med / Surg 1 : 5-6, PCU 1 : 3-4, Behavioral Health 1 : 5-6 days / 1 : 10 overnights12-hour shifts (0700-1930 and 1900-0730) with every other weekend requiredUnit assignment communicated prior to each shift; mid-shift floating may occur as neededBed sizes range from 21 to 35 depending on assigned unitKBH / YA restraint boards and lifts used; training provided during onboardingProvide care for a diverse range of patient populations in various acute and behavioral health settingsRegular ongoing training and orientation include Restraint C, MOAB class, and boundaries module during onboardingFlexible team environment requiring adaptability and strong collaboration skillsNavy blue scrubs requiredMust reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligibleLocal candidates are not accepted for this assignmentRequirements
Active ID or compact RN licenseCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)NIHSS certification requiredMinimum of 3 years' experience in all of the following : ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health / Psych (adult acute, youth acute, addiction recovery)Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation requiredDepartment of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting requiredBenefits
