Lead Mainframe Systems Programmer

Position Summary

As a Lead Mainframe Systems Programmer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting exciting projects involving the installation, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge operating systems and system software. You will also be responsible for maintaining and debugging system software, ensuring the seamless operation of vital components including z / OS.

Key Responsibilities

Manage backup and recovery processes effectively.

Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues while applying query tuning concepts.

Identify and address high-priority database issues swiftly.

Troubleshoot job failures, collaborating with Operations as necessary.

Regularly monitor systems for unusual activities and restrictive states, checking logs for potential issues.

Refresh development and testing systems with production backup images as requested.

Provide support during off-hours as required.

Participate in the on-call schedule.

Lead and mentor the zOS system programming team.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should meet the following qualifications :

Required Qualifications

At least 10 years of relevant experience.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Proficient knowledge of zOS and DB2 platforms.

A proven ability to lead and manage complex projects.

Experience with $AVRS report and output management software.

Familiarity with ISIS / PPFA / OGL for AFP form definition creation.

Hands-on experience with the installation and maintenance of zOS.

Experience working with parallel sysplex environments.

Additional Qualifications

Ability to perform the necessary skill set of a Mainframe System Programmer.

Experience in a collaborative, multi-client environment.

Demonstrated ability to mentor others and exhibit leadership qualities.

As of the time of this posting, the estimated annual pay range for this role is $85,000 to $148,000, based on a full-time schedule. Your placement within this range will consider factors such as skills, experience, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus and equity grants.
