ABOUT THE ROLE

The Procurement Officer Data Center Equipment will oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of hardware and infrastructure components critical to datacenter operations. This role requires strong vendor management skills, market knowledge, and a focus on aligning purchases with operational needs and budget goals. Existing relationships and network outreach for a strained supply chain is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Source and procure datacenter equipment, medium voltage gear, transformers, chillers, cooling equipment, etc.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and delivery schedule.

Evaluate vendor performance and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify equipment specifications and requirements.

Manage procurement budgets, track expenditures, and ensure compliance with financial policies.

Monitor market trends and supply chain risks to ensure timely availability of equipment.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory levels.

Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards for equipment procurement.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Education : Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Experience : 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in datacenter equipment or MEP supply chain purchasing.

Technical Skills :

Knowledge of datacenter equipment (e.g., servers, racks, UPS systems).

Familiarity with procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite).

Understanding of supply chain logistics and vendor management.

Soft Skills :

Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Certifications (preferred) : Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent.

Travel : Regular travel required. For suppliers, sites, and corporate gatherings.
