Overview & Responsibilities

The Manager is responsible for the facilities operations and services for the Broadcast Center and offices at 555 West 57th Street. Manage the overall maintenance, support, safety, and upkeep of the CBS Broadcast Center in conjunction with the director of facility services and the facility maintenance teams. Provide supervision and guidance to the electrical, engineering, and facility services employees to assist in routine preventative maintenance, EH&S policies, ESG goals, and implementation of capital programs.

Responsibilities include but not limited to :

  • Create and implement preventative maintenance programs for all MEP systems in coordination with operating engineers, maintenance electricians, and FSDs
  • Supervisor for Local 30 Operating Engineer and Local 3 Maintenance Electrician Staff
  • Assist in office management, including employee record / time keeping, purchase orders, invoice payment, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to Global Workplace standards at each site
  • Oversee and manage capital programs related to facility upgrades
  • Review, report, and manage utility usage in coordination with current ESG targets and goals
  • Ensure code compliance with local jurisdictions and OSHA requirements, including organizing and maintaining all required records and responding to any form of violation
  • Responsible for all aspects of vendor management; including vendor selection, COIs, authorization of work, scheduling, etc.
  • Ensure contractors work safely and within the building rules and regulations
  • Develop, maintain, and update safety protocols, fire response, and emergency action plans, in coordination with EH&S team
  • Schedule maintenance windows to minimize downtimes for the 24 / 7 / 365 facilities
  • Assist finance team in forecasting facilities spending and managing vendor payments
  • Reports directly to Vice President, Facilities Operations

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of facilities management experience in a 24 / 7 and / or critical facility (e.g. : data center, hospital, etc.)
  • Must possess working knowledge of emergency power systems and HVAC chiller plants
  • Supervisory experience leading a team
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
  • Must be able to work during emergencies and / or special events
  • Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management or related engineering field
  • Certification in related fields of expertise a plus (e.g. : facilities management, electrical, or engineering)
  • Must be reliable, show initiative and great at prioritizing and multi-tasking
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Hiring Salary Range : $95,000.00 - 115,000.00.

    The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
