Provide direct care services to veterans to improve their quality of lifeParticipate in facility meetings, training sessions, and the implementation of the Arizona Management System (AMS) to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencyUse and develop your potential within a supportive team environmentJob duties :
Assists Veterans / Members with transfers, ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, personal hygiene and other ADLsFollows instructions to use simple procedures and devices to strengthen Veterans' / Members' limbs and maintain flexibilityAssists nursing staff with simple medical procedures such as suppositories, enemas, treatments, post-surgical care, and post-mortem careAssists in monitoring the physical and mental status of Veterans / Members by utilizing appropriate medical equipment and techniques to take vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations); obtain urine, sputum, or stool samples; and track input / outputResponsible for medical record and worksheet documentation on all assigned Veterans / Members. Keeps records and prepares simple reports.Assists Veterans / Members with dining to include transporting to the dining room, informing them about menu choices available for the day, communicating with dining staff about Veterans' / Members' choices, and serving Veterans / Members their meals in courses, assisting them if necessaryProvides resident care and comfort by responding to patient requests (verbal or call light) for assistance promptly in accordance with the Resident Bill of RightsMaintains the cleanliness of areas, keeping them neat and sanitary by changing bedding, linens, and other itemsReports to and assists licensed nurses in emergencies rapidly and appropriately, following established policies and proceduresPerforms other related duties such as transporting Veterans / Members to appointments outside the facility and clerical duties (e.g., answering phones, filing, etc.) as neededActively involved in AMS processes such as Huddle Boards, Problem Solving, Job Breakdown Sheets, Success Tracking, and Standardized WorkParticipates fully in the QAPI process, our Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program mandated by CMS, which incorporates AMS
