  • Clinical Shift Schedule : 7 AM 3 PM on select days
  • On-Call Shift Schedule : 3 PM - 7 AM Beeper Call
  • Call Type : Beeper

COVERAGE DATES

  • April 21-24 : 7 AM - 3 PM + Night Beeper Call
  • May 25-26 : 24-hour Beeper Call
  • May 27-30 : 7 AM - 3 PM + Night Beeper Call
  • June 23-27 : 7 AM - 3 PM + Weeknight Beeper Call
  • June 28-29 : 24-hour Beeper Call
  • June 30 - July 4 : 7 AM - 3 PM + Weeknight Beeper Call
  • July 5-6 : 24-hour Beeper Call
  • July 7 : 7 AM - 3 PM + Weeknight Beeper Call
  • Orientation : 1 day required

  • Patient Volume / Census : 10-15 CVICU / Step Down Patients + 1-2 Surgeries per Day

    • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Licenses : Active Arizona License Required
  • Board Certification : Required
  • DEA : Yes
  • Certifications : ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Experience : Minimum 3 years in Cardiothoracic Surgery with EVH
  • Other Qualifications :
  • Graduate from an NCCPA-approved Physician Assistant program OR Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Certified or certification-eligible by the NCCPA OR Graduate from an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Completion of RN / NP First Assistant Program (if applicable)
  • Medical-Surgical or NP ANCC / AANP Certification

    • DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Cardiothoracic Surgery care in inpatient and operative settings
  • Perform procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
  • Collaborate with a surgical team to ensure patient safety and high-quality care
  • Document patient encounters accurately using Cerner EMR
  • Participate in rounding and consultations as required
  • Provide on-call coverage per scheduled shifts
  • Assist in emergency surgical interventions when necessary
