Job Summary
Plans, directs, and oversees the activities, projects, and programs of assigned business unit to support agency goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads multiple sub-units to ensure compliance with operational goals for information systems, contracts, administrative support, and other initiatives
- Directs the development, analysis, and reporting of the annual operating and capital budgets for the assigned area of responsibilities
- Directs operating and financial performance measurement and reporting for assigned area of responsibilities
- Liaises with internal and external clients to drive solutions
- Formulates policy recommendations and advises management on related issues
- Develops and implements work plan goals, objectives, policies, procedures, budget, and work standards for assigned function; monitors progress
- Directs, coordinates, and develops responses to FTA (Federal Transit Administration) and Caltrans audits and follows up on action items reported in audit response through to completion
- Develops recommendations to alleviate and resolve identified problems
- Directs and administers major capital programs
- Represents Metro and department before executive management, the Board of Directors, public agencies, community groups, committees, and professional organizations as assigned Chairs and participates in various committees and task forces
- Directs complex technical assignments, including projects and reporting
- Manages, mentors, coaches, and motivates assigned employees to develop and train staff for growth Communicates and implements safety rules, policies, and procedures in support of the agency's safety vision and goals; and maintains accountability for the safety performance of all assigned employees May be required to perform other related job duties
