Position Overview : Under general supervision, performs managerial and hands-on duties to support building / lab safety, instructional, and research activities. The role involves supporting daily operations, inspecting, maintaining, and servicing equipment and instruments in undergraduate and research labs. Reports directly to the Lab Manager.

Salary Grade : 30E

Major Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory safety operations, designing safety programs and training faculty, students, and researchers.
• Serve as departmental liaison to EHS, overseeing safety procedures in chemical and biological labs.
• Assist in research lab tasks, developing and implementing SOPs for hazardous materials.
• Conduct safety inspections and respond to safety emergencies.
• Maintain undergraduate labs, manage inventory, and assist in lab setup and equipment maintenance.
• Support lab fit-outs, procure and set up equipment, and troubleshoot standard lab instruments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Details : Entry level, full-time position in research, analysis, and IT within Higher Education.
