Description Of Duties / Essential Functions
The Houston Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to building a sustainable community and enhancing the quality of urban life by providing safe well-maintained parks and offering affordable programming for our community. To achieve this mission, HPARD is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join its Recreation & Wellness-GOLF Team. The potential candidate will play a role in the following duties :
This position is designated among essential personnel under the City of Houston Emergency Management policy.
Working Conditions
There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air conditions. The position may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, as with occasional exposure to office chemicals and / or extensive use of a video display terminal. The position occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional very light lifting, such as three or four reams of papers or books (up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight) may be required.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Educational Requirements : Requires an Associate's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Recreation or a closely related field.
Minimum Experience Requirements : Four years of progressively responsible professional and / or skilled experience closely related to the activities of the section are required, including one of the years in a supervisory experience. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferences : Preference will be given to applicants with a Valid driver's license and comply with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2) are highly preferred.

Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification. Pay Grade 20
