JOB DETAILS :
Ambulatory OR RN’s provide care for patients before, during, and after surgery. Duties include patient education, circulating nurse and / or scrub nurse, and potentially First Assist.
Work alongside surgical teams to make sure that patients are receiving the best possible care; serve as liaisons between the surgical team and the patients ' families.
Ambulatory OR RN’s work in a clinic, or outpatient setting. There are several types of operating rooms depending on the type of surgery such as : General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Spine, Urology, and Cardiac / Thoracic.
Education / Requirements :
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) : 4-Year Education
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) : 2-Year Education
- You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
- RN s can only work with an active state license.
- ACLS is often required
- Nephrology Department : Will start PT (2-3 shifts per week) and will turn in to FT from Mid-July to Mid-August; prefer Nephrology experience and MUST have Ambulatory or Inpatient experience, great assessment and critical thinking skills.
Duties : triage calls and email messages to patients, 80% of patients fall into kidney disease, dialysis or transplant and occasionally (< 5% of time) patient assessment and vital signs
