Responsibilities Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting Unit consists of 18 or more beds with telemetry monitoring Direct care for patients requiring progressive and telemetry level nursing 12-hour night shifts, three days per week Floating to other departments or locations within 20 miles is required Epic EMR is used; experience preferred Provide direct patient care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, and evaluation Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document per policy Coordinate patient care with families and the healthcare team Responsible for supervising LPNs and assistive personnel No local candidates accepted due to a 50-mile radius rule Returning perm staff must wait one year before being reconsidered for a travel position Requirements Active NM or compact RN license required Minimum two years of current experience in an 18-plus bed telemetry or progressive care unit Completion of at least one previous 13-week travel assignment BLS and ACLS certifications required from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required Must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during orientation; one retake allowed NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred Epic EMR experience preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627490.
