Job Description
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is looking to hire a Staff Quality Engineer to support S&GS.
The selected candidate will apply quality principles in the areas of : design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and / or research and development as
they apply to product or process quality for make and / or buy products.
They will also perform technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models / designs, drawings and procedures.
Additional responsibilities include :
- Collaborating with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Engaging in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective / preventive action.
- Ensuring corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and / or are compliant with requirements.
- Developing strategies and systems designed to improve internal and / or supplier performance and productivity.
- Evaluating quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Designing and analyzing inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducting product quality tests, performing statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Engaging in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs.
- Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
- Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.
- Attends and leads program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution and insures responsible parties meet commitments.
- Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
- Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001 / AS9100.
- Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues.
- Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
- Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.
This position will be located at a facility that requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Desired skills
- Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline highly preferred
- Electronics and Manufacturing Environment Experience
- Green or Black Belt Certification
- AS9102 interpretation and application experience
- Proposal and Sustainment Experience
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
