Plant Safety Coordinator
Glen-Gery, one of the nation's leading brick manufacturers, is currently hiring for an organized and detail oriented Plant Engineer with a focus on Safety, Environmental and Process based at our flagship plant in Shoemakersville, PA. Within this position you will support and administer the coordination of all day to day safety functions, processes and procedures thought the facility.
Coordinates with : Plant Manager and Production Manager, other plant supervisors and corporate management personnel, outside vendors and government representatives as required
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Administer all safety training programs including compliance with including online Safety Skill training and new Hire safety orientation training.
- Maintain site safety training matrix and safety compliance calendar.
- Coordinate and maintain all Safety & Health Environmental Management Systems (SHEMS) to remain fully compliant.
- Maintain an active and participating Workplace Safety Committee.
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and training of work instructions, JSA's, audits, etc.
- Organize industrial hygiene examinations and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Maintain health and safety records and programs to a high standard and in line with OSHA VPP requirements
- Manage and maintain a Safe quarry site including working with excavator contractors, maintaining compliance with MSHA regulations.
- Responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in environmental compliance with local, state and federal regulations governing plant operations, quarry operations and kiln operations
- Interface between plants and regulatory agencies in preparation of various reports, securing required permits and supervising compliance with mining and environmental regulations for their state
- Assist manufacturing at all levels of the plant. Providing and driving the highest level of Safety and Quality performance at the facility.
- Assist the Plant Manager in maintaining the highest possible quality levels of documentation in all the manufacturing processes.
Qualifications :
