Compensation Range : $68,500-$85,000

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and / or location.

Job Purpose

As we embark on our Digital journey, a core focus is on Data to support our various digital transformation initiatives. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for data and can help move the needle on engagements crucial to the success of our growing business.

This role will have significant short- and long-term strategic impact on the enterprise, as it supports :

  • Broader data strategy, including enterprise-wide business prioritization, and business & technology alignment, implementation pertaining to critical master data elements
  • MDM alignment & transformation programs
  • Enhanced customer experiences through innovation, operational insights, and improvements

In this role, the Master Data Specialist will make an impact in the following ways :

1. Incumbent will serve as a communication liaison between IT technical team and business team for multiple key initiatives.

2. Serve as the primary point of contact for all data-related inquires.

3. Understand and document business processes to ensure that data is captured accurately and consistently.

4. Develop and maintain data quality control procedures.

5. Monitor data entry to identify and correct errors.

6. Perform regular audits of data to ensure accuracy.

7. Provide training on data management best practices to employees who utilize the systems.

8. Provide functional area input to long-term strategies for promoting data as a corporate asset for the company, aligned to the organizational plan to use information to advance the business mission and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures consistent MDM framework, release management, and change management processes are followed across various key initiatives.
  • Plan, coordinate, execute and own data conversion activities including data design, data cleansing, data construction, data enrichment, data validation and defect resolution.
  • Analyze and understand the existing set up of the master data elements in the corporate system landscape (SAP, BaaN, Infor, and Salesforce) and gather and specify the future requirements for the master data domain, considering the inputs of all process streams and understanding the up and downstream system impacts.
  • Identify, socialize, and implement re-design opportunities for master data setup and utilization across various corporate systems aligned to the Enterprise standards and policies.
  • Train and support business users on data literacy to empower them to perform data cleansing, data construction and data validation activities.
  • Acts as skilled and trusted IT contact between the information technology development group and business and function for the development and implementation of new technology.
  • Provide a routine status of activities and actively manage issues and risks associated with those tasks.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Data Management : Educate and socialize data in context, including various data sources and system of records. Identify, understand, and correct flaws in data to support optimal data usage across various business processes and decision-making processes.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None

Education and / or Experience

The ideal candidate would require :

  • BS degree in Computer Science or appropriate experience.
  • Technical knowledge in MDM solutions functional excellence, preferred.
  • In-depth configuration, setup, support, and maintenance experience with the material master and / or customer master domains in one or more ERP systems SAP, Oracle EBS and / or SAP MDG.
  • Expertise in data conversion and data mapping required

Computer Skills

Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office products; experience SharePoint and other software knowledge is a plus.
