NICU RN Job Details Location : Tyler, TX 75701 (East Texas) Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Unit : Level III NICU (9 beds, expanding to 16 beds) Start Date : November 17, 2025 End Date : February 16, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts (06 : 00 - 18 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1570 - $1610 Patient Ratio : 1 : 3 Orientation : 36 hours onsite (28 hours direct clinical orientation 8 hours general onboarding) Self-scheduling available Weekend Shifts : 12 per 12-week contract (6 per 6-week schedule) Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience in a hospital setting Previous travel nursing experience required Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state) BLS and NRP certifications required; STABLE certification preferred Proficiency with Epic charting system Community hospital experience required Ability to manage a 1 : 3 patient ratio in a Level III NICU Must not reside in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties in Texas NICU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate care to neonates and infants in a Level III NICU Manage arterial lines, central line blood draws, and central / implanted line care Administer feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and IV vasopressors Monitor and manage ventilators (AC / PC / SIMV / CPAP / BIPAP / PEEP), UAC / UVC lines, and isolation precautions Care for neonates with diagnoses such as respiratory distress, sepsis, hypoglycemia, hyperbilirubinemia, failure to thrive, neonatal abstinence, and meconium aspiration syndrome Float to Well Baby unit as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and lactation consultants Utilize advanced NICU equipment : conventional ventilators, HFOV, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, phototherapy lights, and more Discover the charm of Tyler, Texas and take the next step in your NICU nursing career.
