Description
On-Going recruitment for part-time instructors to teach in the area of CNA. Availability of contract hours and schedule (day or evening) dependent on enrollment/student demand for courses.
Courses may be taught at multiple locations (CVCC, Goodwill and Alexander Center for Education).
Examples of Duties
Responsible for the classroom instruction, lab practice and skills assessment, and clinical instruction and supervision of certified nursing assistant (CNA) continuing education students.
Must be able to maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance in accordance with state and federal certification requirements.
Qualifications
Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Nursing degree required, Bachelor or Master's degree preferred.
Holds an unencumbered license to practice as an RN in North Carolina.
Must have at least two years of experience (4,000 hours) as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the United States. Work experience must be in the areas of caring for adults with chronic illness, such as geriatrics, long-term care or rehabilitation.
Previous teaching experience preferred.
Must be able to work as part of a team and must value collaboration; possess good teaching and organization skills; able to communicate effectively both in verbal and written expression; and possess an educational philosophy that is compatible with the mission of the community college.
