Housekeeper (Part-Time)

Join us in making everyday life possible for individuals with profound disabilities and love your job! We are seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of housekeeper. This is a part-time position at Marklund's Wasmond Center in Elgin, IL. The hours are 7am-3pm. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements. The hourly rate is $15.25.

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community. Summary of duties :

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
• Dust and clean furnishings, fixtures and ledges in lobbies, offices and hallways.
• Clean and sanitize sinks and bathroom fixtures.
• Clean windows / mirrors in bathrooms, recreational areas, hallways, entrance / exit ways.
• Discard waste / trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
• Clean walls by dusting, damp wash, spot cleaning, disinfecting, etc.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease and film from surfaces using proper cleaning / disinfecting solutions.
• Clean floors including sweeping, dust mop, damp mops and scrubbing floor.
• Clean carpets including vacuuming, spot cleaning and extraction.
• Ensures all OSHA guidelines are followed.
