Utility Forestry Specialist (RESUME PREFERRED)

Positions available: Full time

ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC (AMS) is seeking a motivated and highly skilled individual to provide planning, scheduling, reporting and project coordination for utility right-of-way vegetation management programs.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide professional oversight of forestry activities associated with new electric transmission construction projects.
• Provide primary property owner/ customer interface and communication in the field.
• Research easement and land rights for widths, rights and restrictions.
• Assist in problem analysis and development of compliance strategies with limited direct supervision or direction.
• Assist in conducting of environmental compliance training to various contractors in the field.
• Assist in inspecting and providing advice on forestry operations to ensure compliance with environmental requirements prescribed in laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Develops skills and knowledge necessary to exercise judgment in modifying the detail of work being performed to accommodate field conditions.
• Manage and oversee forestry construction crew for compliance with the ANSI Z133 safety standard, work plan and productivity.
• Completing an environmental assessment and water quality evaluation study and maintaining environmental compliance throughout the project.

Qualifications:

• Four-year degree in Forestry, Wood Industries, Environmental or two- year A.S. Forestry degree with one (1) year relevant experience or significant related experience demonstrated as a professional forester may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Ability to travel and stay overnight up to 4 nights a week (meals and lodging covered by company)
• Valid Driver’s License & Excellent Driving Record
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work in a team environment under a team lead
• Developing skills to coordinate multiple tasks at multiple locations

Physical Requirements:
