Job descriptionMust be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Overview
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities
- You will conduct Explosives Safety Inspections (ESIs) at Navy shore activities and Shipboard Explosives Safety Inspections (SESIs) on all classes of ships and submarines.
- You will conduct inspections and evaluations of facilities, ranges, ships, and physical security measures to ensure compliance with Department of the Navy (DoN) explosives safety criteria.
- You will participate in the NOSSA Job Qualification Requirement training program to develop skills for successful mission execution.
- You will provide advice regarding DoN explosives safety criteria during both ashore and afloat ESIs.
- You will serve as the technical authority and functional lead for inspections and evaluations of ashore and afloat ESIs.
- You will participate in the validation DoN explosives safety inspection criteria for both ashore and afloat activities.
- You will present briefs to senior management on ESIs, SESIs, and Explosives Safety Technical Assist Visits.
