Job Overview
The Engineering Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the product development labs, product regulatory & compliance, and the warranty evaluation process. The position will plan and oversee laboratory investment projects to enhance the capability, quality, and efficiency of the product development process. The individual will lead, mentor, and develop the team and processes that ensure new and existing products comply with internal and external regulations and standards. In addition, the position will lead the warranty evaluation team driving root cause analysis and efficiency in the quality improvement process.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead teams to operate six onsite ISO 17025 HVAC laboratories and personnel
- Mentor lab manager and develop multi-functional lab resource team.
- Develop lab 5 year investment plan and project manage the lab improvement strategy.
- Design and develop test apparatus and procedures.
- Ensure ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 processes and requirements are maintained and updated for applicable departments.
- Lead teams to ensure AHRI / ETL / UL / CSA compliance across the product portfolio.
- Improve efficiency and maintain compliance of the AHRI performance standard compliance and reporting.
- Manage product regulatory processes to ensure global product availability.
- Lead and improve the warranty evaluation processes and robustness.
- Foster a culture of safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Comply with all WaterFurnace and OSHA policies, procedures, specifications, and standards
- Provide creative solutions to the engineering product teams for new product development, product reliability and new technology development.
Qualifications
Education Requirements : Bachelor in Science in HVACR, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering technologies or related field.At least ten (10) years of experience in HVACR or related industries.Experience with data acquisition and lab automation definition and development.Working knowledge of electrical compliance requirements for the HVAC industry.Development experience with new lab specification, development, and capital investment projects.Software skills : Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and lab acquisition tools.Refrigeration theory and geothermal product knowledgeGeneral HVAC and Electrical application and installation experience.Project management skills
