Location : Oakland, CA

Pay Range : $35-40 / hr

Full Time, Onsite

We're currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join the team and contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the fleet of heavy equipment and diesel machinery!

As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the diesel equipment.

You'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment including loaders, excavators, skid-steers, forklifts, and more.

Your expertise will be instrumental in minimizing downtime, optimizing performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify worn or damaged parts and components, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other diesel equipment components.
• Complete preventive maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment longevity.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and execute maintenance tasks efficiently.

Key Qualifications :

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a heavy equipment or industrial setting.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Certification from a technical school or relevant vocational training is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
