Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 24 hours per pay on the Night Shift (7p-7a) at our Christiana Hospital on this Unit. Weekend and Holidays - per the guidelines of the department.

The 3C Medical Stepdown team offers an opportunity to provide care for acutely ill adult patients on a 40-bed stepdown unit. 3C has the unique ability to care for patients that require Intermediate stepdown level of care or Transitional stepdown level of care within the same unit. You will assist in managing a 1 : 3-4 transitional patient assignment or a 1 : 4-5 intermediate patient assignment.

You will utilize critical thinking and clinical expertise to assess, plan, and deliver individualized care to an adult patient population with a variety of medical diagnoses. As a member of our team, you will work closely with the interdisciplinary team including nursing, social work, pharmacy, respiratory therapist, physical therapists, speech therapists, hospitalists, and consultants such as Pulmonologists, Nephrologists, Cardiologists, and Infectious Disease.

We see a range of diagnoses including Respiratory Failure, COPD, Acute Renal Failure, GI Bleed, DKA, Sepsis, and many others. 3C nurses are highly skilled in caring for acutely ill and complex patients, who are proficient in telemetry monitoring, non-ventilator dependent trach collar and High Flow Nasal Cannula management, wound care and more.

We deliver holistic patient care that is patient and family centered to ensure patient comfort and positive outcomes by providing education related to medications and disease processes. In addition, you will closely supervise patients and manage any emergencies than may arise. Once stabilized, you will assist with the transition of patients to the appropriate level of care, facility, or home. 3C staff and leadership take pride in our dedication and teamwork to provide safe, quality care to all of our patients.

We offer a variety of part time or full-time positions with flexible scheduling to meet the individual needs of our team members. The leadership team to committed to providing professional advancement opportunities for our staff, such as guiding our nurses to become a preceptor, charge RN, member of unit and / or system council, and certified. We encourage board certification in Medical-Surgical, Geriatric, Progressive Care, and / or Critical Care Nursing.

General Requirements : BSN required.

ADNs candidate are required to commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire can be considered with relevant experience.

Qualified applicants will have at least one year experience. Acute care or sub acute care experience preferred.

The successful candidate may be eligible up to a sign on bonus to be paid over a period of 12 months.

Hourly Pay Range : $41.28 - $66.05

This pay rate / range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
