Job description

Summary DCI is seeking a Senior Technology Engineer to provide proactive systems management, including workstation and server hardware, operating system software, application support, and mobile technology.

This role requires advanced technical knowledge, the ability to analyze and optimize systems, and support integration of various hardware and software platforms.

The Senior Systems Consultant leads reviews, pre-installation meetings, and system improvement initiatives to enhance IT efficiency, user experience, and overall service delivery.

This position requires strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple client offices.

This is an onsite role located in Washington, D.C.

Position is contingent upon contract award Security and Clearance Must be a U.S.

Citizen.

NO DUAL Citizenship.

Ability to pass Federal background check.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Systems Leadership & Technical Operations Lead reviews and analysis of systems to identify efficiencies and improvement opportunities.

Conduct data and performance analysis to evaluate trends and business impact.

Provide proactive, on-site technical support for workstation, server, and network environments.

Manage and optimize multi-platform systems, including Windows, macOS, and server platforms.

Oversee operating system and application software configuration, installation, and maintenance.

Perform daily monitoring, patch management, and hardware / software upgrades.

Support integration and optimization of laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.

Collaborate with client administrators to maintain network performance, security, and connectivity.

Customer Support and Communication Deliver exceptional customer service through professional communication and technical clarity.

Provide Tier 2 / 3 support and timely resolution of escalated help desk issues.

Prepare and deliver detailed technical briefings and reports to client stakeholders.

Mentor and guide team members and users on best practices and system use.

Build strong rapport with client offices, promoting continuous improvement and reducing help desk volume.

System Security, Monitoring, and Maintenance Regularly perform security tests, system monitoring, and preventive maintenance.

Implement security protocols, firewalls, backups, and system restoration processes.

Ensure compliance with federal information security standards and client-specific policies.

Manage user accounts, group policies, and access permissions following least-privilege principles.

Mobile Device and Network Support Configure, secure, and maintain iOS and Android mobile devices.

Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, sync, and security issues.

Support network file systems, wireless configurations, and VPN access.

Continuous Improvement & Learning Stay current with emerging technologies and security best practices.

Contribute to the enhancement of DCI’s IT service delivery framework.

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in evolving client environments.

Customer Support and Communication Deliver exceptional service and communication with professionalism and clarity.

Translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly explanations.

Maintain service excellence through responsiveness and a proactive support approach.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in systems administration, IT support, or infrastructure management.

Proven expertise in managing Windows, macOS, and server environments.

Strong technical troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues.

Experience supporting enterprise backup solutions and data protection strategies.

Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver briefings, documentation, and user training.

Experience supporting both Windows and Apple systems and associated hardware.

Customer service training and demonstrated experience in white-glove client support.

Certifications (Required at least ONE or MORE) HP Certified Professional (Accredited Platform Specialist – Desktops, Servers, Printers, Laptops) Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP or MCSA / MCSE) Apple-Certified Professional CompTIA Security+ or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting federal clients or regulated environments.

Experience in SLA-driven environments ensuring consistent, high-quality performance.

Proven ability to lead technical briefings, coordinate installations, and document outcomes.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Salary Range :
