Job Summary :
The Artillery Vehicle Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for evaluating prototype designs, creating production drawings (Level 3 Technical Data Package) compliant with industry and U.S. Government specifications, and supporting design reviews and project meetings. The role involves performing complex engineering tasks, analyzing designs, and ensuring product assurance for assigned project components.
Key Responsibilities :
- Create and maintain product parts, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo modeling software.
- Perform complex engineering design, development, analysis, and product assurance tasks of moderate complexity for assigned project areas.
- Solve moderately complex engineering problems without clear precedents or guidelines.
- Review drawings and associated Bill of Materials (BOMs) and identify necessary corrections.
- Support and participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project discussions.
- Ensure compliance with industry, military, and U.S. Government specifications.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to support project objectives.
Required Skills :
Proficient in creating and maintaining parts, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo.Ability to perform engineering analysis and product assurance for assigned components.Strong problem-solving skills for moderately complex and undefined engineering challenges.Ability to review and correct drawings and BOMs.Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and Y14.5 standards.Understanding of relevant military and commercial design standards.Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with military and commercial design standards for creating and revising drawings.Experience with current engineering software and computer applications relevant to the discipline.Background in military product production environments.Experience performing development work within budget and schedule constraints in an integrated product team environment.Experience Required :
Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
Education Required :
B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related technical discipline, plus 4 years of relevant experience.
