Position Purpose

Position Purpose : The Hospital Operations Manager provides daily leadership to the hospital and partners with Hospital Veterinarian(s). The role partners with retail store teams to ensure a smooth and profitable operation by fostering a culture of high-quality patient care and exceptional customer service, while driving revenue and managing costs. The Hospital Operations Manager represents the mission and values of the hospital and Petco to clients. The role fosters a collaborative team environment and coordinates overall hospital operations. Nature of Supervision

The incumbent reports to the Area Operations Manager.

Planning and Problem Solving

The Hospital Operations Manager must possess excellent planning skills while scheduling the hospital paraprofessional partners to ensure adequate coverage and to control payroll costs. The role ensures efficient day-to-day operation and an optimal experience for patients and guests.

Impact

This position contributes to the growth of a productive practice while maintaining a high-quality standard of care. It supports a cohesive, well-trained, and motivated medical support team, with the goal of partner retention, patient well-being, and customer satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position includes 1 or more direct reports (Veterinary Technicians, Vet Assistants, and Concierge partners) with responsibilities including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring / coaching, assignment delegation and partnering with Human Resources on discipline up to termination.

Work Environment

The majority of job duties are conducted in the Veterinary Hospital. The role requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds) and standing for long periods. A large amount of time is spent in direct contact with clients and their pets.

Contacts

This position will regularly communicate with clients, veterinary specialists, store partners, and providers of products and services used by the practice. The candidate should positively represent the hospital and Petco within the professional community and to our guests.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations and may differ by location. Actual pay rates depend on factors such as position, location, experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.

$21.25 - $33.75
