WHAT YOU’LL DO

GENERAL SUMMARY

Reporting to the Associate Executive Director, the Program Director will be responsible for the local implementation and delivery of the National Kidney Foundation’s (NKF) signature programs to patients and those at risk for kidney disease throughout the designated Region.

These programs include (but are not limited to) The Big Ask : The Big Give, Renal Roundtables, Patient Programs, Take Charge of Your Health, Your Kidneys and You , and professional activities.

The Program Director is also responsible for managing local expansion strategies, such as the cultivation of community and corporate partnerships, and securing grant funding for programs.

In addition, the Program Director will work with the local Medical Advisory Board to implement professional and patient programs.

She / He will work closely with the Associate Executive Director and the Executive Director to evaluate program performance and ensure activities are aligned with the NKF’s national strategic plan and local initiatives and will also work in collaboration with regional leadership and development staff in fundraising efforts.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee planning, implementation, budgeting and delivery of NKF Signature programs to maximize their impact within the community.

These efforts will be informed by working collaboratively with the Community Outreach Senior Manager.

  • Manage all logistics related to professional education meetings, grand rounds in hospital settings and / or education sessions, including Drive for Dialysis sessions.
  • Supervise any local program staff to ensure consistency and excellence in the delivery of program services, providing training and coaching.
  • Oversee program coordination and liaise with the development team on marketing and communications
  • Implement and oversee program delivery, tracking and metrics. Gather and analyze kidney disease data for the New England area towards developing a data-driven strategy for program implementation and funding.
  • Provide quality assurance review for deployed programs communicating program outcomes internally and facilitating discussion of these outcomes with our program partners.
  • Recruit, train and manage volunteers.
  • Enhance minority outreach and public awareness activities.
  • Work in collaboration with NKF development and program staff to secure funding for regional / local programs by assisting with grant proposals and meetings with potential sponsors.
  • Develop and coordinate activities to strengthen World Kidney Day public education campaign and other public awareness activities.
  • Direct local expansion strategies, by increasing community and corporate partnerships.
  • Produce regional performance reports on programs and provide feedback to management.
  • Serve as program staff liaison, for local Medical Advisory Boards and other relevant committees.
  • Prepare and manage program budgets.
  • Performs additional duties, as required.

WHAT YOU’LL POSSESS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s in health-related or social services field, preferred.
  • Minimum five year’s work-related experience delivering health programs to vast audiences.
  • Experience working for a non-profit health agency is preferred.
  • Experience in grant proposal writing and securing new funding opportunities through grants.
  • Experience managing and coaching staff and volunteers.
  • Experience in healthcare data analysis and outcomes measurement.
  • Experience managing project budgets.
  • Establish priorities, meet deadlines and time pressure and think creatively and strategically.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills.
  • Must be assertive, confident and project a positive presence.
  • Disciplined, motivated, energetic self-starter with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently
  • Strong collaboration skills and flexibility with different ways to work.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word applications.
  • Flexible for overnight business travel including the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS, EQUIPMENT USED AND SPECIAL INFORMATION

Must have unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness while possessing a high degree of tact, discretion, and professionalism.

Verbal and written communication skills will be used daily. Maintain effectiveness under pressure. Competency in use of a multiple-line telephone, personal computer, fax machine, photocopier, and other standard office equipment.

Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed. Available for overnight business travel.

Must have a valid driver’s license
